New NX users, particularly those transitioning from other CAD systems, often ask me for an application or command that will consolidate an entire assembly structure with all of its components into a single file folder, especially when the assembly and its referenced components are spread amongst a variety of Windows file folders. Since the NX assembly structure is managed entirely by NX and saved in the assembly part file, there currently isn’t an external assembly structure manager for native NX assemblies in a non-Teamcenter environment. There is however, an internal NX command that provides a pretty straight forward workflow for this common task.
