This video is my first testimonial of working with Thermorock, a Structural Insulated Panel (SIP) Manufacturer and Product Developer. Before finding Thermorock, I used a different SIP manufacturer which produced high quality panels and I paid for a skilled SIP builder from that manufacturer to fly to Ensenada to teach my building crew how to build with SIPs. Unfortunately, the project manager that had been referred to me with excellent references and supposed building experience didn't manage the crew well and the house was built poorly. So poorly in-fact that I had to fire and hire a new crew to fix the mistakes. Again, unfortunately, even with the highest quality references this new crew made different mistakes. All of this has cost me three times the money to build my small 1280 sq. ft. home.

Finally, I found Thermorock and did my due diligence as usual and visited the factory, met the executives of the company, architects and builders. I think God was with me because the owner of this company after understanding what I had been through with other companies, decided to help me personally to fix and finish the house, which I am happy to say is now done! I could go into each and every mistake the previous contractors made but this description would be pages long. The bottom line is that building a home with SIPs is a new material for most Mexican Builders. Therefore, you must choose a builder with specific quality training and experience if you want to have a high-quality home. SIP panels are not the least expensive material to use to build a home. Concrete Block, Wood and Steel are more traditional but in our area of Baja California, which is an earthquake and fire zone, not to mention termite haven, you would be wise to consider a more eco-friendly material that saves you tons of money down the road with maintenance and other expenses.
