While Prolotherapy is a highly successful treatment for many people, there are some factors to consider so that disappointing results can be better understood. There is no medical treatment that works for everyone 100% of the time, understandably. One of the things that we try to do, and feel every good doctor should do is, try to understand why certain cases did not have an ideal outcome and help practicing doctors choose good candidates for Prolotherapy, and help patients choose the right doctor for Prolotherapy for them, as well as understand if Prolotherapy is a treatment they want to consider. As we have been performing Prolotherapy for over 28 years, we feel that we can shed some light on this topic for people who are exploring this treatment option.

There are people who contact us or come in saying that Prolotherapy didn't work for them, and others may feel that they've just plateaued or do not want to get more treatments because they have a low pain tolerance and didn't like receiving injections. Just like with any medical treatment, Prolotherapy may not work for everyone, or at least may not get them to gain a full functional recovery.
