For anyone interested, here is the scene with commentary by John Carpenter and Kurt Russell...    • Escape From New York Deleted Opening ...

Presented here is the deleted Bank Robbery opening sequence (VHS workprint quality), with better quality footage wherever possible, taken from the Joe Unger (Taylor) interview on the Shout Factory release. I also corrected the aspect ratio, for some reason the Blu-ray version has the image stretched vertically. At the end is all the upgraded footage run together, including alternate takes and clapperboard shots. The bank was shot in downtown Los Angeles, and the train was shot in the then brand-new MARTA subway in Atlanta, Georgia. Taylor (NOT Fresno Bob!) is played by the aforementioned Joe Unger, not Ted "Buffalo Bill" Levine. No one reads the description text.
