I am filled with so much love and inspiration right now. In fact, it is hard to put into words how I feel. A mix of belief, joy, happiness…
It was beautiful. So beautiful.

Not only did I get to appreciate and immerse myself once again amongst a beautiful community of Tausugs. But on this day, I witnessed something I deeply appreciate... the Department of Tourism Secretary just visited the Province.

Sec Christina Frasco, magsukul, daghang salamat, maraming salamat po. I may not be a Tausug, I may not be born and raised in Mindanao… but as I type this today, I am a proud Filipino. You coming here, it is a testament. Over the years, I have been so privileged to have experienced the beauty that exists in abundance here across the Southern Philippines. I have had so many moments where people share with me things they love about who they are, and where they are the from. The beautiful things that uplift them, and also uplift the lives of others. I have seen it, and I have experienced it…

But honestly, I have also become accustomed to those beautiful things being overshadowed. Still to this day, when I mention places like Mindanao or Sulu… it isn’t uncommon to be met with expressions of fear, negativity, and uncertainty.

But today, seeing you here, a DOT Secretary… 💪😊🇵🇭❤️

Times are changing. Peace, progress, and the love people are sharing is shining through!
