Join me as I return to the drag strip to see how my Tesla Model 3 Performance stacks up against some of the meanest muscle cars on the road.

One common misconception about Teslas and EVs in general is that their batteries are fragile and that their charge will deplete quickly in performance driving situations.

While it is true that quick accelerations and high speeds will deplete the battery faster than normal driving situations, the reality is that the amount and rate of depletion is not significant unless repeated consistently and/or maintained for long periods. In my video, I concluded that the rate of depletion was about 2% per quarter mile drag strip run in my Tesla Model 3 Performance [stealth edition]. This includes time spent waiting in line and returning to the start line after each race.

The competitors’ cars in this video (best guess):

Race #1 - [Modified] 1993 Ford Mustang GT 5.0

Race #2 - [Stock] 2022 Chevy Camero SS

Race #3 - [Modified] 2008 Nissan GTR
