Thanks to Hulken for helping me with recording!

After getting a hang of all the stuff shown in the video I suggest to use the training playstyle to learn the ground movement, because it's what skill mostly consists of. Mastering positioning is hindered by the following things:

1) Acrobatics such as rolls, jumps, cartwheels and backflips. It's all just different kinds of positioning and you can't be good at acrobatics without being good at simple running. As long as your ground movement is at beginner level, acrobatics make learning harder and waste your time.

2) Using the variety of swings. There are 7 different cuts and each of them has its own animation duration, range and trajectory. I suggest to concentrate just on D-swing for a while, because it covers everything in front of you thanks to its trajectory and has a huge range, thus it's the easiest swing to land.

3) Chaining and delaying strikes. Most important swing in the combo is usually the first one and if you failed it, you probably will also fail the second and third swing. At first you need to learn, how to get into advantageous position and to choose the right time for the first swing, which takes months.

4) Tactics such as passive playing and switching stances. There is not much improvement in continious running away because of rare contact between you and your opponent. Concerning switching stances, it's better to keep your mind busy with just one stance at a time and explore the full potential of it, before starting practicing another one.

5) Starting swings too close to the enemy, holding left mouse button and parrying. It's best for beginners to release attack immediately after initiating a strike to avoid saber clashing.

6) Trying to keep your saber in the opponent's body (poke) and shaking the mouse (wiggle) make your positioning and visibility worse.

7) Playing against people, who use the things above.

Training playstyle is the fastest way for a beginner to improve and it consists of just running around and doing single D-strikes.
