REALTOR® Karen DeMarco was inspired by how her community supported her during her battle with breast cancer and decided to pay it forward. Within three years, DeMarco went from cooking meals in her kitchen to co-founding The Food Brigade, a food pantry network that has provided 1,774 tons of food to tens of thousands of people in three New Jersey counties.

About the REALTOR®: DeMarco, a real estate professional and broker-associate with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Tenafly, N.J., is the co-founder of The Food Brigade. Karen joined her husband in the fight against food insecurity in 2020 to deliver meals to residents facing hardships, such as an illness, job loss or death in the family.
