There are horrific wildfires in many places right now, these shots are of the one on the Greek Island of Evia which I wanted to share to help raise awareness of the situation.

I am on holiday in Skiathos in Greece (as usual) and Evia is directly south of here. This was filmed from Eleni beach on Skiathos which is almost ten miles away.

It has devastated this beautiful island and continues to burn. So many people have lost their homes and livelihood. The human death toll has been thankfully low so far, two people who have died including a drone operator who is also a volunteer firefighter and a bulldozer operator digging firebreaks.

Whilst many animals have been rescued many have died, left behind in the rush to evacuate. It’s awful.

With no rain for so long and record breaking heatwave so many places here are at risk. Just behind where I filmed this is the Skiathos forest, firefighters are camped out there 24/7 ready to react if needed. It really is a tinderbox here.
