The inspiration behind this video:

Throughout their tenure in Marvel Comics, the Thunderbolts have been led by several male antiheroes and villains, including Baron Zemo, Red Hulk, and even Wilson Fisk, a.k.a. Kingpin, when he was Mayor of New York. Valentina is the perfect leader of the Thunderbolts for the MCU, made even more poignant by her position as one of the most powerful women on the planet. This updated version of Val is even shown in the character's design, as the comics usually show her with a blond streak of hair, but in the MCU, this has been changed to purple, which Louis-Dreyfus thought would seem "a little more of this world today."

Not much is known yet about the story that will unfold in Thunderbolts, or even why Valentina has been recruiting super-powered individuals, though it's clear that she has some nefarious purposes in bringing the Thunderbolts together. This could potentially connect to her desire to harness the powers of vibranium, which she claimed she'd dreamed about during moments in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. It's unclear whether Louis-Dreyfus will appear in the MCU again before Thunderbolts, but she is currently one of the MCU's most mysterious charactersHer actions will be explained when Thunderbolts releases in July 2024.
