For years, homeless residents in Ocean County relied on motels in Seaside Heights for temporary housing, one of few options available in the only county in New Jersey without a year-round homeless shelter. Those motels are getting harder to come by, with owners cashing in on a hot real estate market and selling their properties to high-end developers.
