****One Month Update: We have a salt water pool that is likely the cause for corrosion to the charging prong which broke off. The unit is no longer useable if it cannot be charged. The company was updated about the problem and hopefully will address it moving forward but if you have a salt water pool, beware any corrosion on the charging port! Otherwise you will have to send it in for warranty work. ***

Pool vacuums are pretty much mandatory unless you don’t mind the bottom of your pool looking like a pond. Manually vacuuming works but get’s annoying over time so most of us have the automatic vacuums hooked up to our pool pump. There are two problems with these vacuums, however: 1) The hose is annoying and ugly. 2) It takes away from the skimmer suction.

The GENIUS’S at Aiper (these guys are SMART) came up with a battery-operated wireless vacuum that is AWESOME!! No more having to remove all that hose and vacuum EVERY TIME you go in the pool! Basically, you charge it for a few hours and, as needed, toss it in the pool. It runs for about 90 minutes, sucking up all the crap on the bottom of the pool. You pull it out, recharge and have it ready for the next day. Meanwhile, you pump is using ALL it’s power on skimmer and you don’t have to sweat that nasty vacuum hose anymore! SO GREAT!

Papa was tired of getting wrapped up in that vacuum line, thinking THAT was the reason Ethan was defeating him in swim races. A short unboxing later, papa launched this cleaner in the pool and it was time for a rematch! We won’t spoil the outcome of the rematch here but…well….perhaps it was not the vacuum hose that caused Papa to lose!

Listen, if you have a pool, this is definitely a step up from the normal vacuum. As far as reliability goes, we have been using it for a week now, about twice a day I run it and have seen zero problems. It’s easy to use, clean and seems very nicely built. Worth a look is you are sick of the vacuum hose! The one we got, the Aipury 1000, is linked below (they have a more expensive one…but…it’s a lot of moneys!).
