Want to learn more about what makes your bike go?

Your drivetrain system is what propels your bike forward and is essential to the bike's performance. Modern ones allow you to pedal when you want, and coast when you’re going downhill- pretty cool!

A bike’s drivetrain has several moving parts, including a chain, cassette and freehub body. One of the most important parts is the freehub body- it’s what transfers your pedal power from the chain and cassette through to your rear wheel hub, which turns the wheel.

A common upgrade to bikes is replacing the cassette, if yours is damaged or worn out, or if you want a different gear ratio. If you're looking to upgrade your cassette, you may be limited to a certain type of system depending on the freehub body currently installed on your bike.

In this video, Hector shows you the differences between modern freehub bodies and shows you what is compatible with your current drivetrain system.
