I’ve always considered myself as one who enjoyed a particularly varied diet. I make sure to get lots of lean protein, complex carbs and healthy fats but when I sat down and thought about it, I was surprised to see that many of my choices are on the menu 365 days a year! In this video I share with you the food staples I can’t live without, and why! Then we make a quick healthy, high protein bean salad putting Greek yogurt in the spotlight on the savoury side of things!
I’d love to know your diet staples that just never get old, and why!

Here’s the recipe for the delicious bean salad with savoury Greek yogurt

1 tin beans of choice - I used a bean medley but also especially love chickpeas and white navy beans
1/2 small red onion sliced thinly
1 tomato chopped
6” or 15cm piece of cucumber seeds removed
Chopped cilantro if you like it! Fresh parsley is fine or just omit
1 cup or 250ml Greek yogurt
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1 clove garlic crushed
1/4 tsp cinnamon
S&P
Splash of olive oil (optional)

Rinse your beans well and pat dry
Add beans and veggies to a bowl
Combine yogurt, garlic and spices and add olive oil if using.
Toss with beans and cilantro
Enjoy!
