Are you struggling to write a character who is nothing like you, but you really want them to feel believable and relatable? A lot of writers don’t even realize how much their own voice, perspective, and beliefs influence the characters they write — and while this can sometimes be a good thing, you don’t want all your characters to sound like YOU. They should all have unique voices and personalities of their own. In this video, I'm going to share my best methods for sinking into a character’s shoes and writing their unique voice and personality even if it’s totally different from your own! (Some of these techniques might sound a little strange, but I promise THEY WORK.)
