This video demonstrates the process to create an aluminum drawer pull / knob by the sand casting process. The sand casting pattern was created on a 3D printer. The pattern was sanded, primed, and painted before use. The pattern was then packed with Petrobond in a jeweler's 2 part iron casting flask. Scrap aluminum was melted and poured into the casting flask creating a drawer knob / pull out of solid aluminum. The aluminum drawer knob was then drilled and tapped to fit on a 8-32 threaded screw.
