You all know about Abe Lincoln, AKA Honest Abe, The Illinois Rail Splitter, the 16th President of the United States, and perhaps most importantly, the hunter of Vampires. What I bet you didn’t learn in history class was about how Lincoln squared off against Mr. Never Die, AKA the merc with the mouth, Captain Delicious Pants, The Red Guy, Mr. Never Die, and perhaps most importantly, Ryan Reynolds’ ultimate meal ticket.

While most of his comics simply try to entertain you with bloody tales featuring Weapon X mutant assassins, meta-humor, and random Spider-Man team-ups, the arc is known as “Dead Presidents” went a step further by trying to teach you something as well. It featured evil, resurrected versions of the deceased Presidents of the United States trying to destroy their own nation with only Wade Wilson to stand in their way. It was kind of like Hamilton except it replaced the rap music and epic choreography with sword fights and bare-knuckle boxing.

Of all the showdowns Wade got into with every president from JFK to Ronald Reagan to even George Washington himself, the best of these was with Daniel Day Lewis’ favorite president, Lincoln. The two had a budding rivalry that exploded into an MMA-style showdown with only one left standing. Even though he didn’t fight in the Civil War, Lincoln proved that he could’ve been a one-man army all along.

So who won when Wade Wilson fought Abe Lincoln? Let’s find out. Don’t forget to like, subscribe and share for more from CBR!
