Coming in at around $76k as optioned. So.. What do I think? Apart from the cloth interior (you need to upgrade to the Lariat or Platinum for nicer materials and a bigger infotainment), I was generally impressed.

Ford was able to make an electric truck that truly can please anyone familiar with a normal pickup. As an EV, the battery and new IRS (independent rear suspension) transforms the ride into a comfortable (VERY quiet) cruiser and hauler. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🏁 @Alllcarnews Spec Sheet: Here we have the Extended Range Battery (around 131.0-kWh), an over $10k option ($52k Standard or $73k Extended), providing us with 580HP and 775 lb-ft of torque 0-60 happens around 4 sec and range is impressive at up to 320miles and yes, around 270-300miles is 100% achievable… when you aren’t towing…. or enjoying the wild acceleration. 🏁 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The ER pack also gets you the (awesome) Equipment Group 312A, which is otherwise a $9500 option, and includes the 9.6-kW generator, heated seats, steering wheel and more.

While we couldn’t really test the 7,700lbs of towing (10,000 if you opt for a towing package), other tests show range drops nearly by half. Payload sits around 2,235lbs while the massive frunk gets 400L of storage. Inside, I was happy NOT to have the Mach-E’s massive 15.5in screen as the XLT and lower trims get a perfectly fine 12in Sync4 unit with physical climate controls (yay).

Nonetheless, the Lightning is fantastic. I was pleased with the quality, the electric drivetrain and unexpected refinement. Though remember the Lariat with the ER pack starts at around $77k……and good luck trying to get a Lightning as demand is through the roof.
