I checked in with my friend and political consultant Brian Goldsmith on the recall ballot that California voters are being faced with. Newsom, who took his gubernatorial election by over 20 points in 2018, is being recalled in a state whose only requirement for a recall is a certain percentage of voter signatures. A confluence of events led to Newsom opponents being able to gather the required signatures and let voters decide the governor's fate in a ballot that consists of two questions.
