This is a video to compare the Oculus Quest 2 with the Oculus Rift S. The Rift S was my favourite VR headset for a long time and is still a great bit of kit thanks to inside out tracking, great visuals and sound and plenty of convenience.

The Oculus Quest 2 though, is set to be the successor.

Highlights to the Oculus Quest 2 include:
An upgrade display with 1832x1920 pixels per eye
Upto 90Hz refresh rate (with supported games)
A lighter design
Better faceplate and strap system means it lets in less light
Tracking is superb even in bright conditions
Includes hand tracking out of the box
With Oculus Link cable you can play VR games via Steam or Oculus Store on a gaming PC
It has the promise of more accessories in future https://support.oculus.com/4442565628...
It's $100/£100 cheaper than the original Quest
Better processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2) and more RAM (6GB) mean it can run more powerful games
Battery intelligence means the controllers last longer AND do clever things like only turn on when you pick them up to use them
Passthrough cameras allow you to see the world around you and you can do that with a double tap on the side of the headset

Downsides:
IPD adjustment is manual and only in three levels - 58mm (Setting 1), 63mm (Setting 2), 68mm (Setting 3)
IPD adjustment requires you to stick your finger inside the headset
Headset battery life is still just 3 hours max
Steams up easily if you're wearing glasses!
You now NEED a Facebook account in order ot use it.

Features of the Rift S include:
Ergonomic headband design with flip up visor
Single panel design
Rear-firing speakers
Software IPD adjustment

Specs include:
2560 x 1440 resolution, 80 Hz refresh rate
Integrated speakers and 3.5mm auxiliary jack
Six degrees of freedom movement tracking via inside-out tracking sensors

Obviously the Quest 2 wins thanks to hands tracking, Oculus Link, wireless VR freedom and more. But the Rift S is still a great headset.
