Male suicide is a global health issue, claiming the lives of 528,000 boys and men each year. In Canada & Australia, suicide rates are 3x higher among men compared to women. In the US, nearly 80% of the suicides in 2022 were men.

The Reducing Male Suicide (RMS) Cluster works across UBC faculties and collaborates with national and international researchers to de-stigmatize men’s mental illness and suicidality, reduce disparities in care, and lead effective male suicide prevention interventions globally.
