Each year Shazam tries to predict the top 50 songs it thinks people will search for using its app. Since Apple acquired Shazam back in September 2018, you can listen to Shazam’s list of predictions in Apple Music by searching for Shazam Predictions. You should see four playlists dating back to 2021. If you’re on MacOS, you’ll find the search option up here. The list actually features artists that Shazam feels will have a breakthrough year based on data it collects from the millions of requests it receives each day. Tapping on more will give you information about some of the artists Shazam is convinced will be top of its list. And it’s kind of cool to go back through the old playlists to see if Shazam got their predictions right. Sadly I must be a bit too old because I don’t recognize any of these artists. If you do like what you hear, you can of course add the playlist to your library by simply tapping the plus button. Or, alternatively you can add individual songs by tapping on the ellipsis icon and choosing add to library up here. Remember you can use Shazam to identify a song by opening the control center and tapping this shortcut. If you don’t see it here, open Settings, scroll down to Control center and here is your list of shortcuts. Add Shazam by tapping the plus next to music recognition.
