2006 Porsche 911 Carrera S Review, walkaround, and short test drive

A while back, I reviewed the 2012 Porsche 911 GT3 RS 997.2 body. That car was a little too extreme, and I also wasn't able to unleash its full potential or even a fraction thereof because of the limited roads that was available to me during the test drive. Now I get the chance to review the subdued version of it.

Following the great controversy that surrounded the Porsche 911 996 body with its questionable fried egg headlamps, Porsche released the 997 body 911 in 2004 as the 2005 model year. Now with the classic and proper round headlamps of the 911s of the past and present. A base model 911 called the Carrera with a 3.6L flat 6 engine was released together with many different version that you couldn't count with one hand such as the Turbo, the GT3 RS, and the GT2 RS.

This right here is the one step above the base Carrera called the Carrera S. It has a 3.8L flat 6 engine that produces 360PS, and 400Nm of torque which is 29PS more than the base Carrera, lower suspension, 19" rims as standard, upgraded brakes, sports exhaust, Bi-Xenon headlamps, as well as aluminum trim in the interior.
