Luke Grimes Supports Kevin Costner's Decision On ‘Yellowstone'

Luke Grimes is not upset with Kevin Costner, his co-star on Yellowstone, for leaving the popular program.

In a recent interview with The Independent, Grimes, who portrays John Dutton III, the youngest son of Costner's character, talked about the actor's exit.

"Whatever happened there is unfortunate if it's changed anything about how the show was going to unfold," Grimes stated. He went on, saying he was aware that Costner was "busy" working on his "passion projects," such as Horizon: An American Saga, which is set to release soon.

"At a certain point, you gotta do what you gotta do, man," Grimes replied. "You gotta do what you love."

In June of last year, Paramount revealed that Yellowstone, after five seasons, would be ending. Only a few months have passed since Deadline revealed that the network was attempting to cancel the popular Western because Costner desired to spend less time on set.

Costner hasn't entirely ruled out a comeback.

Earlier this month, he told Entertainment Tonight, "I've loved making that series." "I've produced five iterations. I had assumed I would make seven. How does it turn out then? They have a bunch of different shows going on, so hopefully everything works out. Perhaps this will come full circle to me. I would love to do that if it happens and I feel completely at ease doing it."
