The 2021 Toyota Mirai is a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle (FCV) based on the Toyota GA-L platform, like the Lexus LS 500. It uses the hydrogen fuel cell to power a 182 horsepower, 221 lb-ft of torque electric motor, with power sent to the rear wheels. Toyota claims the standard XLE model has an all-electric range of 402 miles, which would cost under $10 in hydrogen. Pricing starts at $50,455 for the Mirai XLE, with the top spec Mirai Limited costing $69,000 fully-loaded.
