Many of us have been told that hard work and studying will lead to admission into a good college and, eventually, a good job. However, getting into a good school is much harder than just studying hard. Universities view students as investments and must determine if they are worthy investments. The question arises: “Are we really smart, or are we just born wealthy?”
Ms. Daewe Aung is a student at the International School of Bangkok. With a passion for writing and reading, her leisure activities include decorating her daily bullet journal and diary, where she records the exciting events of her life. She also has an interest in reading and writing published articles and op-eds. She won the Harvard Debate Council in the summer of 2023, showcasing her brilliant speaking skills.
