I wonder how many of you enjoy EVs but are scared that they may take much longer to charge before they can be driven again? Well, aside from cost and range, waiting hours to charge your EV is another major roadblock on your way to owning one.

Most people ask a new car buyer ā€œhow long will it take to charge?ā€ And that's when the owner begins to feel embarrassed.
So, wouldn't it be nice if we could recharge an EV battery in less than 10 minutes? What do you think?

Well, Batteries are getting better all the time, and companies like Battery Streak are making this dream a reality sooner than you might think.
Battery Breakthroughs can increase the lifespan of a lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery by more than a hundred times in terms of recharge and discharge cycles.

There is no doubt that electric vehicles are a vital part of tackling the climate crisis. However, the worry of running out of power during a journey is detrimental to the effectiveness of the action. That's why this new generation of lithium-ion batteries has been developed by Israeli company StoreDot and will be manufactured in China on standard production lines by Eve Energy.

The company has already demonstrated its "extremely fast-charging" battery in phones, drones, and scooters, and the 1,000 batteries it has already produced are used to showcase the technology to automakers and other companies.

The likes of Daimler, BP, Samsung, and TDK have all invested in StoreDot. In fact, the company has raised $130m to date and has been named a Bloomberg New Energy Finance Pioneer for 2020.

Bloomberg reports that the price of a lithium-ion battery pack has fallen by 89% over the last 10 years, reaching $132 a kWh in 2021. By the year 2023, it is anticipated that battery costs will be approaching $100/kWh, at which point electric cars will be priced at the same level as fossil-fueled vehicles.

So, do you think that the current progress will one day be implemented worldwide? Most importantly, which company do you think will launch fast charging first, Tesla or the StoreDot?
