Our very first guest on the NewAfrica Podcast is none other than James Barnor - one of Africa’s greatest photojournalists, and arguably the godfather of photography in Ghana, he was the pioneer of colour photography & colour processing in Ghana.

He has since been awarded the Order of the Volta - which is the 3rd highest national award in Ghana - for his outstanding contribution to Ghana’s development. He has also been awarded an honorary fellowship by the Royal Photographic Society, his photographs have been exhibited in the Tate Modern & Victoria & Albert museums, and the New York Times recently wrote a fantastic feature article on him.

Born in 1929, James Barnor's ability to tell stories and capture key moments in time, through his photographs, will transport you through the decades.
