April 19 - 20, 1982 FM DX Session from far northeast Philadelphia. WNBR 100.7 Wildwood, NJ; WBJC 91.5 Baltimore and WHUS 91.7 Storrs, CT. Tropospheric ducting due to a high-pressure system with dry air. Sanyo RP6160A tabletop radio.

This aircheck was the first time I heard the WNBR in Philly. Two weeks earlier, on April 8, 1982, the Atlantic City Press reported that the station increased its power to 20,000 watts. The station came on the air as WCMC-FM in 1959 and became WNBR-FM in May 1981. Today, the station is WZXL with 38, 000 watts and is frequently heard in Philly.

WHUS aircheck and sign-off received in Philadelphia on April 20, 1982; 12:30 to 2 a.m. Effective power of 3,160 watts, horizontal and vertical, with studios in the UConn student union building on Hillside Road in Storrs and transmitting facilities at the bottom of the 212 foot tower, one-quarter north of North Eagle Road in Storrs.
