British patient reveals what it’s like to have Covid-19 and how to cope.

John Browne, 32, from Wandsworth, London caught coronavirus from his girlfriend who worked in close proximity to someone who later tested positive for Covid-19.

She started with cold and flu symptoms which turned into a cough so severe it was a struggle to breathe.
John called NHS 111, who sent an asthma inhaler to a nearby pharmacy to relieve the tightness in her chest. Neither of them could collect her prescription because they both have symptoms and are practising self-isolation.

While living and taking care of his partner, he caught the virus himself. John describes how friends and family are keeping them in paracetamol and toilet paper supply whilst he experiences the early symptoms of the disease.
Despite facing uncertainty as to how the virus could affect his health, John's main focus is to prevent the spread of coronavirus to someone high-risk.

The coronavirus death toll in UK today rose to 177 with 40 more deaths in 24 hours as London heads for a shutdown.

Eighteen of the deaths were recorded in London, the UK Covid-19 epicentre. As it was revealed pubs, restaurants and other venues will be ordered to close as the killer bug continues to spread.
