Darwyn Cooke worked in advertising and animation for years before breaking into his first love, comic books. This video takes a look at his relatively brief but exciting career from his earliest work on Batman and Catwoman to his creative heights on DC Comics projects like The New Frontier and Solo through his final years working on darker crime comics, adapting Richard Stark's Parker novels. He had a retro style influenced by 1950s and 1960s Americana and it was full of energy and excitement.
