Colortone pedals have been at it in Australia since 2019 and they’ve already created an impressive catalog with 3 effects which offer various immersive and swirling spaces. The Spring Reverb II is their unique multi-mode, analog-voiced reverb armed with expansive options like independent Rototrem modulation that can be mixed into any setting.
First, choose from 3 modes: EchoVerb -- which highlights the multiple delay reflections heard in the Belton Brick-based reverbs, Studio -- a rack style reverb with a tighter sound that works for any style thanks to the wide ranging tilt EQ and Decay knob, and Tank – an essential spring tank flavor that provides maximum drip, especially with liberal use of the Blend control.
And don’t forget to add that finishing touch and movement to any mode with the Mod knob, which controls depth of a slow and subtle vibrato modulation. Literally taking it a step further, the Spring Reverb II has easy access to second layer controls by simply holding the footswitch. A second LED gives you access to fine control over thee EchoVerb delay time, up to 6dB output boost for any mode via the Blend, or independent RotoTrem Speed and Depth controls. In stereo (selected via an internal switch) the Rototrem pans left and right just like a dual mic’d rotary cabinet. Plus, you can use the RotoTrem with or without the Mod vibrato and even dial out the Reverb mix completely for more intense Tremolo effects.
Colortone pedals use etched metal enclosures which are not only artful but extremely rugged. The attention to detail is evident on the outside and in with silicone knob caps for easier viewing in various lighting conditions plus soft touch relay true bypass switching.
