In this Let’s Talk Light session, Thorn Lighting’s Daniel Pars will review the different road types, from major and minor roads to pedestrian crossings and bridges. He will then consider how lighting designs will vary depending on the best practice guidance for these specific areas. Did you know, for example, that columns on major roads should be between 8 and 12m in height in an opposite or twin central configuration, but those on a minor road are usually 5 to 8m in height and positioned in a single sided or staggered layout to minimise risk of vehicle impact and pedestrian obstruction?
