In this video we take a look at two of my old Millipede colonies. Both colonies are contained within their own terrariums. Although they do feed themselves most of the time I occasionally replace leaf litter within their setups.

The two species are the Pill Millipede (Glomeris marginata) and the Flat Backed Millipede (Polydesmus angustus). I also keep Fast Isopods (Philoscia muscorum) with the Flat Backed Millipedes.

I was most excited about the Pill Millipede breeding success! I really enjoy keeping these arthropods and think they make great pets. I will admit that raising young into adulthood takes a long time. Pill millipedes take about 3 years to reach sexual maturity. I suspect this is partly why they're less popular than Armadillidium isopods.

Several people asked for an update video on these colonies. You probably wont see another video of these for a while as there isn't a lot to show anymore. The species may make new appearances in future terrarium videos though.
