I understand that to truly grasp the essence of a country's culture, immersing oneself among its people is incredibly insightful. That's precisely what I've decided to do for the next three days: live with the locals, work on a farm if needed, and even cook if the occasion calls for it. My adventure began at Hom's Homestay in Sarangkot, Pokhara, where I was immediately thrown into the vibrant festivities of a traditional birthday party. The warmth and hospitality of the locals were overwhelming; they welcomed me with open arms, ensuring I was comfortable and well-fed, treating me as if I were family. This has been an enlightening experience, one I would highly recommend to anyone looking to connect deeply with a new culture.
