One in five low-income women report missing school or work due to a lack of access to period supplies. And with existing social injustices and the ravages of COVID-19 reverberating through the city, the situation around period poverty remains daunting—and disproportionately felt among youth, black women, and women of color.
In this timely virtual program, presented by U by Kotex at Walgreens and benefitting the Alliance for Period Supplies, medical professionals, researchers, and youth will explore how period poverty adversely (and inequitably) affects different groups and how to address this cyclical problem to create long term solutions.
