WELCOME TO THE 2021 DRIFT MASTERS EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP

As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, Drift Masters GP was unable to complete the proposed 2020 DMEC season as planned. With drift fans and drivers anxiously awaiting the return of the ‘Premier League’ of European drifting, the 2021 DMEC calendar would need to make that extended wait worthwhile. The DMEC team are constantly striving to bring fans the most adrenaline-fuelled, entertainment-filled and ground-breaking events possible. The 2021 DMEC calendar represents that ethos and our constant goal of pushing professional drifting to new and exciting heights.

Thanks to the unwavering support from our local promoters, series sponsors and media partners, we are proud to present the most ambitious season of European drifting in history. New circuits, stadiums, returning favourites and city streets will play backdrop to the most competitive action ever witnessed worldwide. Drivers representing over 25 countries will compete for the biggest prize in the game, the 2021 Drift Masters European Championship title. We appreciate the patience our fans worldwide have shown over this past year, now it’s time to reward that patience.

Now, only one question now remains: Are you ready?

Round 1 – Austria (PS Racing Center) – May 29+30

We begin our DMEC journey in Greinbach, Austria. With series standings returning to zero and the refreshed ambitions of Europe’s best drivers waiting to be realised, the tension will be palpable. The first podium of the year will be hotly contested, with high expectations across the field following an unusually extended off-season. A fast, technical and challenging opener awaits.

Round 2 – Norway (Lillesand Arena) – June 25+26

New to the calendar for 2021 is the scenic and challenging Lillesand Arena circuit in Norway. Recently constructed, the course features extreme elevation changes and high-speed sections. Our Norwegian fans are some of the series’ most passionate, so all drivers will be putting on a show to win their respect. Our first Scandinavian DMEC event will be unmissable at this special venue.

Round 3 – Poland (Torún Speedway Arena) – July 9+10

This professional speedway stadium usually hosts motorcycle racing and was never intended as a drift circuit. With tarmac laid around the edge of the arena, over the loose gravel a dangerous and technical circuit was born. The confines of this stadium create an electric atmosphere unlike any other event and only the bravest drivers can succeed here. Expect carnage in the arena this July.

Round 4 – Latvia (Bikernieku Trase Circuit) – July 30+31

It’s Riga baby! The most infamous drift event in the world returns for 2021. Expect an extreme full-throttle layout, parades, after-parties and all the mayhem a European drift event should contain. This driver’s favourite combines one of the most extreme layouts in the world, with some of the most passionate and committed fans. This event really needs to be seen, to be believed.

Round 5 – Georgia (Tbilisi City Centre) – September 4+5

What if we told you that the Georgian government suggested shutting down the centre of Tbilisi city and turning the public streets into a custom DMEC drift circuit for one weekend only? It may sound like fantasy, but the most ambitious drift event on earth has now become a reality. The 2021 DMEC finale will be the wildest drift event ever attempted. A champion will be crowned on the streets of Georgia!

We hope you are all as excited as we are to kick off the DMEC 2021 series and we are intending on making up for lost time with these incredible events. All rounds will be free to watch on Red Bull TV, with numerous digital and presentation upgrades coming your way.

As with all public events during this current Covid-19 situation, dates are subject to change. That said, we will be doing everything in our power to fulfil this proposed DMEC 2021 calendar and hope you will all join us, online or in person, for an incredible year of professional drifting.

So now you know the when and the where, but there are far bigger things at play for the DMEC. New drivers, new nationalities and new technology will change the face of the DMEC championship as we know it.

Stay tuned to our web and social channels for all the news, updates and changes coming to this incredible championship. It’s going to be one hell of a ride!
