Number 5 in my "Aces" series. I fly a P-51D vs a BF109K-4 set to Ace skill level.
This was a hard won victory. I don't fly the P-51 very often because I find it a little too "twitchy" for me. I have a tendency to over control it, which typically leads to a stall/spin situation, which usually gets me into trouble. That happened more than once in this sortie, and the K-4 pilot almost got me each time. I think the only thing that saved me was the fact that I was able and willing to dive the P-51 at over 500 MPH, and the K-4 pilot either wasn't able, or wasn't willing to match it. So I was able to extend away and reset the engagement from a more favorable position.
