Hey Guys, our final video on the 992 Porsche alone. 'The Driving Video'. This car has perhaps the best compromise of any car on sale between Comfort, necessary for everyday use, and Sports driving characteristics. The feedback the car provides when travelling quickly, whether that be on a track or through the country lanes, has to be experienced to be believed. The Carrera S has an abundance of power for everyday driving, the engine producing 444bhp and 391lb ft of torque covering the 0- 62mph benchmark in 3.5sec and coupled with the new eight-speed gearbox the new powertrain is immense.

So what of the chassis? Absolutely terrific imo. On the motorway you are instantly impressed at the refinement on offer with the optional 10mm drop in suspension specified and given the Carrera S is running on 21'' rear rims, Overall the cabin is reasonably quiet for this genre of car at 70mph, and the ride impressively compliant. Downsides? Well wind noise inside the cabin is noticeable at higher speeds and there is a degree of tyre roar but these never really interfere with the driving dynamics, this is a sports car after all. A new wet mode makes life easier when driving in difficult conditions by maximising the downforce available.

But find some space, nudge the gearbox into Sport and the new powertrain is near instantaneous in it's delivery. Seriously difficult bends can be taken at speeds that probably wouldn't have been possible in the previous generation outside a fully blown GT3. The brakes are also excellent with the steel discs, though this has always been the case with Porsche. In the corners you could be forgiven for thinking you are in a 991 generation GTS, front and rear track width is up, noticeably increasing front-end grip and with it the confidence to raise the corner entry speeds. The grip available as you power out of tight bends is also immense, the rear engine has always aided the 911 here. But the balance when changing direction is other world, the car hunkering down to provide maximum traction in most conditions. And the steering feel, the 991 GT3 first nailed the use of EPAS, Electric Power Steering, and now to all intents and purposes the base 992 has the same innate feedback.

If you are feeling overall that I like this car you are spot on and if they ever provide hybrid capability in the 992 I shall immediately go out and buy one for my everyday use!
