"The Road to Woodstock 69" October 12-14 , 2021

If you're at all interested in Woodstock 69 or the story behind Arlo Guthrie's story and song Alice's Restaurant then let me give you a few tips on where to go.

Visit Stockbridge Massachusetts there you will find the original Alice's Restaurant down a side alley and if you watch the movie Stockbridge was used in many of the shots.

Also, a must stop is the Red Lion Inn where many celebrities stayed such as Margaret Hamilton who played the Wicked Witch of The West in the Wizard of Oz , Franklin Roosevelt , John Wayne, Bob Dylan , Theodore Roosevelt , Thornton Wilder , James Taylor etc. Visit http://redlioninn.com

You will then want to see the Old Trinity Church now the Guthrie Center that Arlo wrote his iconic Thanksgiving Day Song Alice's Restaurant where Ray and Alice Brock lived in the bell tower as the song goes and also visit http://www.arloguthrie.com for more information on Arlo , his family and their music.

Donations to the Guthrie Center are much appreciated:
Visit http://guthriecenter.org
Located at 4 Van Deusenville Road Great Barrington, Massachusetts 01230

The back roads from Great Barrington to Bethel Woods are very scenic and a must see is the museum at the Bethel Center for the Arts where there is a museum dedicated to Woodstock 69 http://bethelwoodscenter.org overlooking the concert field.

To cap off your road trip you will want to step back in time to the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome located in Red Hook NY http://oldrhinebeck.org there you will find over 60 vintage related antique aircraft and try to catch an air show and book a biplane ride and experience the rush of the slipstream and majestic views.
