Starting at under $20K for the hybrid XL trim, Ford's 2022 Maverick offers impressive fuel economy (estimated 40mpg city, 37mpg combined), reduced emissions and important safety features to keep drivers safe. Though it's called a compact truck, it's actually about the same size as the 2011-MY and below Ranger, and it's priced below the 4-door 2011 Ranger SuperCab XLT which showed up at dealers over ten years ago with a price tag of $22,640. When adjusted for inflation, that comes to $27,950 in today's dollars or roughly $8,000 more than the 2022 Maverick XL hybrid. Plus, the rear seating area is bigger than the old Ranger.
