Alan unleashes a melo-death offensive for his leadoff review for 2024!
First up is Los Angeles, California's Upon Stone with their debut full-length album, Dead Mother Moon. There's no denying this band had The Jester Race and Skydancer on repeat during their formative years for such a vibrant influence to enter into their creative output. The album feels like a fantastic snapshot in time where empowering harmonies cascade like drifts of snow down from the land of Gothenburg.
For his Call to Arms, he sheds some light on the new EP, Delusional Monster, from Australia's Besomora. Again, a very noticeable Swedish influence in the vein of At the Gates, but with Chuck from Death on vocals.
Both bands wear their influences on their sleeves for effective results. Join us to hear Alan dissect these releases down to their metal core.
