It was in 1941 that Eric Coates was inspired to compose his "Three Elizabeths" Suite depicting Queen Elizabeth the 1st, Queen Elizabeth later the Queen Mother, and the young Princess Elizabeth who became Queen Elizabeth the 2nd in 1952. His portrait of Princess Elizabeth took the form of a march entitled "Youth of Britain" and in this performance, taken from the complete Suite, it is played by the BBC Symphony Orchestra, conductor John Wilson. It was included in a concert entitled "Great Masters of Light Music" given in London's Royal Festival Hall on 25 June 2011.
