While attending the (e)revolution electric bike show in Denver Colorado, I got to connect with Yamaha to learn more about their YDX Moro Pro ebike. This is an all mountain enduro electric mountain bike with 150mm rear and 160mm front air suspension from RockShox. The frame features Dual Twin technology; individual tubes that open at the top for an ideal shock mount position and span around the battery pack vs. fully surrounding it, which helps reduce weight. The wheels are 650b size with 27.5" x 2.8" plus size Maxxis High Roller II tires. It comes with Magura MT30 hydraulic disc brakes with large 203mm rotors and quad piston calipers. A very nice Shimano Deore XT derailleur with 11-speed 11/46 tooth cassette. It uses the powerful and reliable Yamaha PW-X2 mid-drive motor, offering 80nm of torque, and the standard 500 watt hour battery pack that runs at 36 volts. It costs $700 more than the standard YDX Moro and the big upgrades are the suspensin shocks, derailleur, and tires. All Yamaha electric bikes also come with a three year frame, motor, and battery warranty.
