Uzbeks also took an active part in the 1941-45 Great Patriotic War. Uzbekistan honors Victory Day and honors veterans on that day. The Victory Park memorial complex itself was opened in 2020.
The breakdown of the park into visiting zones is dictated by their emotional content - the horrors of war and the heroism of soldiers, resilience and selfless work of those who remained on the home front and provided for the front, a zone of sorrow and grief, a zone of joy, a zone of gratitude. The park itself is very interesting and worth seeing.
