In today's video I explain how the scapegoat child adapts to the narcissistic parent's intrusions. The child must adopt a belief that others' needs are more important than their own. The narcissistic parent's needs include finding the scapegoat child to be inadequate. So it's not just others' needs for care that are more important but others' needs to devalue the child. Several case examples will illustrate this process. Last, I offer a tactic to learn that others can stay warm and connected even when you exercise your right to say 'No'.
