How to pour, finish, and saw concrete for a garage floor.
This video shows us on a new construction garage floor pour. We were hired to place and finish the concrete floor for this 30' x 24' garage.
My part on this job was to provide the concrete and labor to install the concrete floor. The builder, who hired me, was responsible for the prep and what you see is what he wanted.
I did use fibermesh reinforcement in the concrete as well as a 4000 psi mix.
The new garage floor was sloped three inches towards the garage door openings. When you pour concrete and slope it as we're doing, it holds it's shape very good as long as you don't pour too wet.
After power troweling the concrete smooth, we sawed contraction joints using our green cutting concrete saw. This helps control shrinkage cracks that otherwise usually occur if you don't saw joints.
