In this video I talk about how to make initial contact with an art gallery.

I used to be so afraid to talk to galleries but Ive developed this system for making the initial contact that makes it a lot easier!

Here are 5 simple steps to making initial contact with a gallery:

1. Visit the gallery and look at all the art.
2. Then approach the front desk and strike up a conversation about one of the pieces in the gallery.
3. Ask them whether they prefer to receive a hard copy of the artist's packet mailed to them or an emailed version.
4. Find out who you should address it to and get the name of the person you spoke with.
5. Mail them a greeting card with an image of your work on it that night, and send them your artist's packet soon!

Research galleries by doing gallery visits like this, and compile a list of ten galleries that would be a good fit for your work (they show work that looks similar to yours and show emerging artists).

Submit to all ten galleries at once, on the same day!

If you've done the research correctly and prepared your artist's packet professionally the numbers work out that you'll always get into one out of the ten!
