The JOURNEY Continues! Porsche 914 Restoration, hell hole repair, longitudinal replacement & 914 jack point replacement. The Porsche 914 hell hole is the most common rust repair area on these cars. When it is bad enough, rust rots through from the engine bay, all of the way through to the longitudinal and even through the 914 rocker panels.

Welcome back to my 1975 Porsche 914 restoration project. I finally install the new replacement longitudinal panel on my 914 and this replaces the rust and rot that I cut out previously!

For the keen eyed amongst you, you will notice that at times I say the car is a 1975 Porsche 914 and then at others, you’ll see on screen I say it is a 1976 Porsche 914. This is because there is a mix of information on my car. My car may be one of the last cars made!

1969 - 1972 Porsche 914 / Car introduced with 1.7 engine
1973 Porsche 914 / Available with 1.7 engine and a 2.0 engine
1974 – 1975 Porsche 914 / Available with 1.8 engine. 2.0 engine still available
1976 Porsche 914 2.0 available only

The chassis numbers for the 1976 Porsche 914 are 4762900001 to 4762904100. My car falls in this range even though elsewhere on the car, it is marked as a 1975.
