Elon Musk announces the Megapack Gigawatt scale battery for utilities. The goal is to create a sustainable grid system capable of storing the power generates from solar panels, and delivering it to the grid as needed in a smooth fashion.

The Tesla Megapack is 60% more dense than Tesla's Powerpack product and will take up 40% less real estate than competing products. It looks like the new Megapack product may put Tesla' energy division back on track for meeting its year end goals.
